How exactly was V.K. Konovalov sunk?

That Alfa-class commanded by Stellan Skarsgård.
I don't understand how it was hit by a torpedo.
Were they hit by their own torpedo somehow?
If so, how was it turned around so completely?
I couldn't follow precisely what was happening there.

You are correct. After chasing the RO and the Dallas for a bit it ends up hitting the sub that fired it.

reply

It is confusing, because there are three submarines (Konovalov, Dallas, Red October) and a lot of activity.

Thank you.

Its a modern, well 1990, torpedo. Not a dumb, point and shoot WW2 torpedo. They track and steer like a guided missile.
