Could the Bible have inspired Home Alone?
Luke 2:41-48. Although I would say that the sequel came to mind first when reading that.

shareMary and Joseph went a day or so without realizing he was missing. Just like it took a while for Kevin's parents to discover that he was gone.
shareI think you might be right. Especially when you read a few passages later how he set up buckets of camel droppings that fell onto the heads of some evil Pharisees that were trying to break into his hut to steal Mary and Joseph's gold and frankincense while they were gone.
