When Edward was asked: what he will do if he walking down the street and find a suitcase of money? the moron give stupid answer: "spend it on my loved ones". Then the stupid daughter defend him by saying "it's much nicer thing to do". NO IT'S NOT. You Marxist blonde, it's not your f@$@ing money, get a job.

This scene make me hate both characters. Steal money from other person is not nice in any way.
Spend it on other people make it worse, because you present yourself as a generous and loving person by using other person money!!!

How would you go about finding the real owner of the money ?

Even if there is a little chance to find the real owner, you still need to give it to the police, for the small chance to find the real owner. They have the resources to find the person. In most countries if no one will claim the money within a reasonable time, the police will give it back to you. But even if not, it's still not your money.

I think Kim was maybe just trying to stand up for Edward because he was still in trouble over something she did, and she still felt guilty but was still not going to own up. I don’t know if she really believed that.

I partly-understand your comment about Marxism but not why you don't think it's stealing, I will glad to read your answer about that.

I lean more on the psychology of these ideologies that does not attach importance to private property or wealth, a feeling that I deserve everything in the name of equality.

Anyway, putting aside the nickname I gave the character, I didn't understand why you think there is no theft here?

You really think that finding something lying around is stealing? It's called FINDING.

So let me understand, if you find suitcase of money on the street you will take it? I am curious what are the justifications you use to tell yourself that this is not theft? You imagine that the money came from sky? or someone left it for you to take?

it is very simple, if you believe that the suitcase of money belong to someone else and you still take it - it's stealing. Pure and simple.

I always perceived this differently.

For me, it's not about what specific steps would you take in this literal specific situation, but more "if you suddenly had a large sum of money from what would you do with it?" as a way to judge his character from that.

How he got the money in the hypothetical situation isn't really important. You could make up any legitimate scenario to ease your concern. It's about what he would do with the money after attaining it that's important.

Interesting point of view. This can be a good defense for the character of Edward - a non-human being who does not fully understand nuances and social norms. Expectations from him are not high, but a much more intelligent and moral response could have been expected from Kim.

Edward also still has a lot to learn about the world itself, such as where money comes from (not out of the sky). But his heart is in the right place.

In some aspects it seems that he really lacks basic understanding of the world around him. He will not be able to grasp cultural codes unless the significant people around him educate him to discern the subtleties involved in distinguishing between what is considered good and bad.

I think it was just to show that Edward would do something nice for his loved ones, and Kim took his side, I think, because she was starting to like him.

I am focused more on the content than on the motivations of the characters. Although she does like him and, therefore, protects him, I got the impression that she truly believe what she said.
