The blanks in the guns

i love that part where he shoots the gun with the blanks at Lorenzo. However, watching it now I think as soon as he drew that gun one of the other cops would have shot him immediately, don't ya think? He shot for quite awhile with no one doing anything to stop him!

Yes, in real-life he probably would've been shot. Good thing this is a fictional film and sometimes the characters have more sense and wits about them than real-life people....sometimes. In reality the chances are greater that he would've been shot and possibly even killed.

I'll let you know when I come-up with a new signature, .

reply

Yeah. He would have being shot in real life but I like to reconcile it as everyone hated the captain so that's why they didn't do anything.

reply

This is my new theory. I love it.

reply

Yeah it was a pretty big gamble. In reality McClane would have been riddled with bullets before everyone realized Lorenzo was OK.

"It was Shnoke. He shedushed our shon to the Dark Shide"

Yep. Awesome scene here. Lorenzo was screaming and he wasn't even getting shot. Blanks in the rifle. Frickin' totally far-fetched. McClane woulda been shot dead if this were real life.

reply

That's the dumbest scene in this movie.. I agree Bruce Willis is shot 100% during his demonstration

reply

Maybe they didn't shoot for a few reasons.
They hated Lorenzo's guts. And McClane's fire wasn't causing any damage. Their immediate instinct was to draw their guns (which they did, if you watch it) but they weren't firing because their instincts could also see that he wasn't being harmed, he was just dancing on the spot and ****ting his pants.

Their brains didnt believe they were watching a man being murdered, because he wasn't.

And McClane is a good guy they all liked so they would have been reluctant to shoot him.
