Anybody watch this show because of loving Hugh Laurie on House?

I ask because I was actually the reverse: I started watching House because I loved Laurie so ardently from Jeeves and Wooster. I remember it was a little awkward at first, watching Bertie act so dashed moody and cynical and American. But of course, I eventually became smitten with Dr. House as well.

How about initial House fans who crossed over to J+W? Was it a shock to your systems seeing him play the very antithesis of House's character: a naive, sweet, sociable, British imbecile?

Never watched House ever, but I watch J&W from it's initial run on ITV.

I guess I'm a bit weird. I'm an American who saw Hugh Laurie first on J&W, Blackadder, and Peter's Friends.

By the time House came along, I was well familiar with Hugh Laurie.

Have not seen Stuart Little. Not my thing.

Still waiting for a Peter's Friends version "The Way You Look Tonight"....not holding my breath though. :-(

My wife got me hooked on this show because of the books. We were aware of House but didn't start watching it until the fourth or fifth season.

It was the reverse for me. I knew him as bumbling Bertie before House. I was entertained by House but not a huge fan. Hugh is amazing though. An incredible talent

For me, it was P.G.Wodehouse's books that led me to J&W, then Fry & Laurie and then Blackadder. I watched Stuart Little and 101 Dalmations too with my daughter all the time wondering why Hugh Laurie was being wasted this way. And then House came along :)!
And yeah, I'm probably in the minority but I always preferred Hugh to Stephen.

I watched because of Stephen Fry.

You are Number Six.

Me, I've only seen 'House' once and didn't much like it. But I do enjoy this a lot. Of course the Brits do TV a lot better than we do. And they get good actors like Laurie while we're stuck with the crappy, useless Americans.

I'd seen House a few times but it wasn't anything special. My wife checked out one of the Jeeves books from the library (The Inimitable Jeeves) and loved it. I purchased the DVD on a whim and we've watched it countless times since.
