I believe that they did and then Bug told her to take a hike because he was finished with her. He got what he wanted, he plowed her field and then found a hotter chick to bang. Nothing wrong with that.

I would not object to that kind of behavior if it was a half-night stand between two mature people who are both aware that it's just sex for the sake of having sex. But pulling such a stunt with a 15 year-old girl who might be seriously in love with you is so very wrong. Everybody with a conscience knows that.
Apart from that, I think it is left very vague what actually happened at the party. Tia says that everything Buck said would happen did happen. Now, Buck didn't predict anything, not on-screen at least, but in any case it is clear that Bug hurt her deeply.

No. I do not think they got it on. He was pressuring her to do it and she said no. So I gather he broke up with her just because of this.

I still maintain they DID have sex. For 2 reasons:

1. Bug had been chasing Tia for ages, and seemed determined. Why would he give up just then?

2. The more convincing reason I think they did: Tia tells Buck "You were right. Everything you said would happen happened."
He quite clearly told her that Bug would sleep with her & then dump her.

"I'd say this cloud is Cumulo Nimbus."
"Didn't he discover America?"
"Penfold, shush."

If Bug had slept with/raped her, she'd have pushed Buck to do a lot WORSE to him than hit him with a golf ball. I think she just refused to sleep with him, he broke up with her and went to find another girl who would.

I'm guessing he tried to force himself onto her, maybe did reach somewhere... but I don't think they ended up having sex. I agree with you that he probably dumped her and got the other girl right after that.

my theory is that bug's advances were virtually identical to what buck described. she became hurt at his easily figured out plan of action and left. Bug simply grabbed a chick off the dance floor.

I suppose it wasn't a "slam dunk" answer in the film, it was a little ambiguous but I took it that they did not have sex. I took it that he had been hoping this party was going to be the night in which he could sleep with her and she said no so he dumped her and went after another girl at the party he thought would put out. It doesn't seem logical for her to have sex with him and then him be in bed with a completely different girl just an hour later.

I think the first scene at the party was her, noticed the short hair. then the scenes after that were of the other girl. so, I don't think they did anything.

That's right. She changes. I think he took her upstairs and made a move. Tia fought off his advances and left. Bug went downstairs found another girl and tried again. It took at least thirty minutes for Buck to get there.

I think when things started to get serious Tia decided she didn't want to have sex with him, he then went off on her for being scared and makes her cry.
