Star Trek V - Time to do the Director's Edition

To be blunt, Bill Shatner is 92 this year and we've lost a lot of stars from his era in the past few years. After all he has done for Star Trek, and continues to do, and the poor effects his TFF movie received, it seems fair that he be given the same kind of consideration that Robert Wise received for The Motion Picture in 2000 (and updated 4K edition). This has all been said before and I even posted about it several times back on IMDB's forums long ago.

Now is the time to get him into a screening at the studio with that team and watch the movie from start to finish together with an eye on what visual effects can be recreated or enhanced, and what edits can be done to tighten the movie as a whole. Have a great discussion about every scene of the movie.

I love the film and the fun character play in TFF. Despite its overly silly plot, I take it for what it is not too seriously and just enjoy the fun of it. Above all else, I wish it had decent space effects on par with the other 'original cast' movies and that the shuttle bay size issue could be corrected somehow, along with a few obvious blooper things. We've seen fans address some of these aspects on YouTube with their own versions, so that's a good place to start.

Of course there are many other considerations such as the cost of doing it, the marketing, the manufacturing, streaming and selling, etc.

Has anyone tried creating a list of things which could be adjusted? Some kind of plan would only be beneficial to the cause.

yes, now FX are fairly straightforward to do (so long as good as Picard s3)

Esp as this year is the movies 35th anniversary

This is wonderful for him but he must also be thinking of Star Trek V and how much better it could have looked. Now give him the time and funds to do so!

I'd actually like to see his original vision for the film. I have heard that the studios messed with his draft, and the finished product was almost nothing like Shatner intended it to be.
