Slower than I remember

I first saw this movie many years ago when I was a kid. Tonight I decided to give it a look at see how well it held up.

The direction and cinematography were better than I expected, but man, the film really slows down after the first act and never recovers. While I enjoyed it during the early going, after about the 30 minute mark my mind began to wander, and after the first hour I was ready to just be done with the whole thing.

I remembered the film being pretty creepy but watching it as an adult I mostly just thought it was boring.
