Too much swearing / cursing ruined this movie.

It would have been a good Flick if they cut out the swearing, and considering it is supposed to be a family film you'd think they would know better.

There's just way too much swearing for this movie to be enjoyable, especially with Helen, nearly every scene that Helen is in the writers have her saying blasphemous words, it's awful, she is likeable but unwatchable due to the amount of curse words that come out of her mouth, same with Larry except he is not likeable.

I'd rather watch the 2000s spin off TV Series to be honest.

What a strange prudish person you are. There's minimal swearing and in real life, people swear, goddammit!

I never even noticed swearing in this movie. I thought it was perfect. Sometimes people use profanity, and this movie was depicting a typical American family. Helen was trying to raise two kids as a single mother and was very frustrated with the way things were going with them, and with being alone. I'd cuss too if I was her.

Having grown up in a large extended family, I expected there would be more. Try living in the real world.

I'm sure you are being facetious . When was there swearing in the film ? I've seen it from when I was 10 til today . Unless your a religious prude . The sort who gets offended by god damn it.

Back when I watched it, I assumed the so-called "adult" content was to make it a movie, as opposed to the sitcom it otherwise felt like. We should be happy they didn't drop a few F-bombs. Or maybe they did -- it's been a long time since I watched it. Terribly overrated film.

I remember watching it and feeling like they overdid Helens cussing. However, raising 2 rebellious teens of the opposite sex will do that to a person.

Plus Helens cussing exemplifies her good parenting later on in the movie.

Cussing or not, it’s a good movie.

It is not a "family movie", as in a movie that you will watch with young kids.
So I guess that using a few swear words was okay.
