Why was Whinielle so afraid?

He was just competing in an ordinary tournament… what was the worst that could happen to him? Compared to a fight to the death in KK2, you would think a single simple karate match at the local gym surrounded by hundreds of people would make anyone feel safe. Maybe Daniel had some bad cocaine before the fight that caused his meltdown?

reply

It’s hard to say exactly but it does shine a light on the ultimate uselessness of Miyagi’s training over the previous two films. His character has regressed to become even less competent than the day at the beach he picked a fight with Johnny. Macchio showed impressive commitment to his craft by gaining over 50 pounds for the role, perhaps inspired by De Niro in Raging Bull to show his character at his lowest.

reply

It’s hard to say exactly

It isn't. It was bad writing. You have just basically explained that.

reply

Think you’re underestimating Kamen’s vision for the character. KKIII is perhaps the most subversive piece of mainstream filmmaking of its era. The audience is deliberately lured into despising the supposed hero while sympathizing with the motives of the villain, causing us to reevaluate the very tradition of storytelling itself. There’s a lot more going on beneath the surface than you’ve been able to uncover during your BBC edited broadcasts.

reply

No. It's more a case of you are overestimating Kamens vision for the character. The KK3 we got wasn't even Kamens preferred story and well you know it.

There’s a lot more going on beneath the surface than you’ve been able to uncover during your BBC edited broadcasts.

Hard to see a BBC edit when it has never been shown by the BBC. But then accuracy never was your strong point.

reply

Sarcasm is not your friend.

reply

Oh no!

reply

It happens to us all on here lol.

reply

The KK3 we got wasn't even Kamens preferred story and well you know it.

It’s a good thing the studio got him in line. Their guiding hand led him to produce the finest work of his career. KKIII, Terry Silver and the Quicksilver ™️ method will be remembered long after the Daniel-centric KKI fades from public consciousness.

Except Terry Silver wasn't originally part of this story even. It was only because Martin Kove couldn't commit to filming the whole movie that this Dick Dastardly-esk character came about. KK3 is the very definition of studio interference fucking up a movie series.

reply

I think that the villains were always intended to be Daniel and Miyagi tho

reply

Stop it Pinocchio.

reply

"Pinocchio's Revenge" needs it's own comments thread

reply

Why was Whinielle so afraid?

Bad writing.

reply

He was morbidly flaccid.

reply

Because he was on the mat with Dynamite Mike Barnes, a man who strikes crippling fear into the hearts of his opponents. Barnes had already pulverized him several times by that point without even breaking a sweat, so when Danielle saw him fired up in the tournament fight, he knew it was hopeless. He knew there wasn't anything he had that Barnes couldn't counter. He knew that his illegal crane kicks and sucker punches would not work. He knew the crowd wasn't going to distract his opponent this time. The moment he saw Barnes giving him a death stare from across the ring, the bladder loosened. His only instinct was to curl up into the fetal position and cry uncontrollably into a puddle of his own urine.

reply

...and then he did something Barnes couldn't counter and he won.
The End.

reply

Question for WA: if you were refereeing a fight and one of the contestants started doing a kata instead of engaging their opponent in combat what would you do?

reply

Question for cruisin109.
Where were you?

reply

Answer the god damn question.

reply

Been answered many times, but then you know that cruisin109.

reply

Answer the question or all this will seem like a happy memory compared to what I’ll do to you!

reply

The question has been answered many times as well you know. The fact that you didn't get this answer you WANTED is neither here nor there.
Now answer the question put to you Pinocchio.

reply

I am running out of patience Wears now answer and let’s get on with it!

reply

Typical dodge by you Pinocchio

reply

Don’t do that.

reply

Oh do shut up Pinocchio

reply

Sure ya are!

reply

You need to stop lying Pinocchio109, or your nose will never stop growing!

reply

Who are you Sam Gerard s mother?

reply

...and the nose keeps getting bigger!

reply

If I ever see you on the same street I’m not gonna be so charitable with your health.

reply

Oh Pinocchio, at this rate you will never be a real boy.

reply

Why’d you call the cops? You have no proof!

reply

You need to let your conscience be your guide, Pinocchio.

reply

I heard you aren’t answering the question WA sooooo I’d like you to reconsider.

reply

You are heading for 50 more kicks up the arse at this rate Pinocchio.

reply

Hey! Wake up and smell the coffee Mr Wears! Last time you weren’t fighting this! (Spins the board to show Cobra Kai Season V poster). If you are afraid of a little pain I can’t be a part of it! Christ I’m wasting my time… anyway just get to work before you’re late and your boss whips your bum with your own black belt as punishment.

reply

Guess you never learn. 50 kicks it is then.

reply

LOL! This exchange was brilliant!

reply

You like that eh?
Check out the trial of cruisin109 and an American idiot in London.

reply

Would tell him to check out the trial of wears Alan but you had it deleted.

reply

You can say that, you can even believe it. But it doesn't make it true.

reply

Why would a random mod browse this board and delete it unless someone made a complaint?

reply

Why would I leave it up so long and then report it?

reply

When the verdict went against you, you got desperate.

reply

The desperateness came from you seeing as you were clutching at straws and denying evidence to the contrary. I was happy for it to stay on the boards as it show you at your disillusioned and foolish best.

reply

All things considered, think it was a fair trial. It’s a shame that it’s been lost to history.

reply

All things considered, think it was a fair trial.

Of course you do...you're a fucking idiot!

It’s a shame that it’s been lost to history.

It is. It defined how bias and idiotic you are.

reply

Wears knows damn well he would stop the fight and disqualify the contestant, perhaps even issue a lifetime ban for disrespecting tradition. Glad the All Valley finally kicked that bum Johnson to the curb. He was a dirty ref with a poisonous presence.

reply

Wears knows damn well that he would stop the fight and disqualify the contestant, perhaps even issue a life ban for disrespecting tradition.
Oh Pinocchio, you really must stop with the lies.

Glad the All Valley finally kicked Johnson to the curb. He was a dirty ref with a poisonous presence.

Yeah, he let Daniel go through all that when he should have DQ'd Barnes. Mind you, his replacement is even worse. Look what happened at the last All Valley. Bribed by Silver and witnessed by Tori.
He ought to hang his head in shame.

reply

Oh Pinocchio, you really must stop with the lies.

Do you even have a counter argument?

Yeah, he let Daniel go through all that when he should have DQ'd Barnes.

Johnson should have stopped the mismatch since Daniel’s life was in danger. He didn’t have the skills or training to defend himself from the onslaught and he’s lucky he didn’t end up like Apollo Creed. Miyagi was also at fault for not throwing in the towel, idly standing by while his boy lover was beaten within an inch of his life.

Mind you, his replacement is even worse. Look what happened at the last All Valley. Bribed by Silver and witnessed by Tori. He ought to hang his head in shame.

Silver was a philanthropist at heart and was merely helping the referee pay his bills. The All Valley staff worked hard for shit pay and it was merely an act of generosity on Silver’s part.

reply

Do you even have a counter argument?

Yes, but it is wasted on you seeing as you are so blinkered in your views.

Johnson should have stopped the mismatch since Daniel’s life was in danger. Miyagi was also at fault for not throwing in the towel, idly standing by while his boy lover was beaten within an inch of his life.

A bit far fetched from you there Pinocchio.

Silver was a philanthropist at heart and was merely helping the referee pay his bills.

More lies.

The All Valley staff worked hard for shit pay and it was merely an act of generosity on Silver’s part.

Seeing as we are never told whether or not that is their full time job or what they get paid, it would seem you are reaching even further than you usually do here Pinocchio.

reply

Silver took care of the have nots. What has Daniel ever done for the 99%?

reply

You mean he bribed people so he could win. Don't dress it up Pinocchio, tell it how it is.

Posting a bit late aren't you? Oh that's right, you live in Hawaii

reply

You suck WA you suck man. Answer the question now! You’re a joke WA your karates nothing and you’re nothing! I own you I own you WA where’s Sam Gerard now huh? He’s a phony and a fake and he didn’t teach you nothing! Answer!

reply

Hi diddle dee an actors life for you

reply

That’s cute did your mum teach you that?

reply

No, I learned it from that story about your quest to become a real person. How's that going?

reply

This is a serious discussion. If you want to be a Disney adult, take that shit elsewhere.

reply

You started it Pinocchio.

reply

You don’t belong here. Go and pollute the KKI board with your filth.

reply

One seriously has to
Wonder why WA won’t answer the question. Can you imagine an entire tournament in which ALL the contestants simply did their katas during the whole match without actually fighting each other? WA apparently would have no problem with this.

reply

Wonder why WA won’t answer the question.

It was answered. It has been answered many times over the years. You just didn't like the answer, so you keep asking the same question. Einstein once said that doing the same thing every time and expecting a different outcome is the definition of insanity.
Suits you that one.

reply

You don't belong here....you said you were leaving after England beat Denmark.

reply

You chickened out of the bet. Probably your lowest moment in all your years on the board. Why would you even bring that up?

reply

Which has nothing to do with your proclamation that you would uphold your part of it.

Your words:
We had a deal. You asked for confirmation while I was offline, giving me 10 minutes to reply. I’m replying now. Deal on. If I lose and I break my word you’ll always have this evidence. Denmark is a sure thing, I have no reason to back down.

Don’t even think about backing out man. Cuz then I’ll really be pissed. And this? This will all seem like a happy memory compared to what I do to you.

Your alter-egos words:
I am a witness to this.

WA is now under a binding obligation to haunt some other board if England loses.

If he reneges on this he is a disgrace but not surprising since he failed to show up @ Harrdos & Jamaica, and lies about answering if he would have felt like a winner in KK3.

WA is on notice, if he tries to weasel out, then it's open season.. on Samgerard.. and WA.

Apparently I couldn't back out. Ergo, neither could you.

Game.Set. Match.

reply

You must have a fetish for public embarrassment. If there was ever any doubt about you being a sniveling weasel, this thread exposes you for all to see. That you would cite it as a victory for yourself just exposes your own detachment from reality.

reply

I was told that the bet stands. Can't you read? I was told I couldn't back out and was expected to leave if England lost...it's all there in black and white.
England won. So if I was expected to leave if they didn't then what is your excuse?
I'm waiting.

reply

😞I hate you.

reply

I know.
But I don't hate you. I don't know you so I'm not that shallow.

reply

You better prepare for the ultimate mind fuck wears… it’s coming. Soon you’ll know pain in every part of your body and fear in every part of your mind. And here’s the kicker….you’re gonna thank me for it.

reply

Another 50 kicks for you Pinocchio.

reply

How to you know he’ll watch season five?

reply

Hell watch it don’t you worry about it. Give Mamona a squeeze for me.

reply

And another 50 kicks. Your arse will be red raw.

reply

How do you know about Mamona?

reply

Ahhhh I know haha! Anything else you want?

reply

Yeh…. Find his dog a new home.

reply

Zara? Hey… hey I like that! Hey I’m gonna do that! Hahahahaha!!!!

reply

....and another 50 kicks. you'll have no arse left at this rate.

reply

Nice one Demitri. When you get fired for not having a karate license, you can always become a stand up comedian.

reply

I have a karate licence.

reply

You don’t have a license.

reply

Oh but I do.

reply

Right. And Daniel was a black belt.

reply

You know nothing yet smugly announce that.
What a dipshit!

reply

You said yourself that there was no such thing as a license and now you claim to have one? You must be hopped up on cocaine.

reply

6am when you posted this. what's the matter, couldn't sleep?

You said yourself that there was no such thing as a license and now you claim to have one?

No I didn't. Go and re-read the posts.
I'm waiting.

reply

I’m gonna throw that forged license down Devils Cauldron. Don’t even think about trying to retrieve it because I’m NOT going to pull you up a second time.

reply

Can't forge those EKO licences. Genuine article you see. What a fucking moron you are. Honestly, it's like shooting fish in a barrel.

reply

You’re one heavy wimp wears! NRC123 can you give me a hand here? WA took his steady girlfriend rope down Devils cauldron and got stuck… again.

reply

Another 50 kicks up the arse for you sonny Jim. You haven't got an original thought in your head have you? You realise you are completely wrong about Karate licences so go off on a tangent and plagiarise KK3. What a wanker!

reply

When will he ever learn? He’s lucky we were nearby to come to the rescue.

Dennis and Snake’s incredible feat of strength often gets overlooked. Pulling Danielle’s 325 pounds all the way up Devil Cauldron was a massive accomplishment.

reply

Stop talking shite you idiot!

reply

Show some respect. You’d still be treading water at the bottom of the ‘dron if cruisin and I hadn’t bailed you out. What would you have done if we didn’t come along? Who would take care of Zara?

reply

Stop lying and fantasising. you are only making yourself look even more foolish than usual.

reply

You’re out of your depth. I figure the tide’s going to come in in about twelve minutes. Hope you got a life raft.

reply

Shut up you freak!

reply

I bet Wears is desperately trying to fashion a raft out of old Mac and cheese boxes. Don’t think the cardboard will
Hold up in the salt water though.

reply

He can use the forged license as a sail.

reply

Boring

reply

Daniel was afraid of losing face in front of the crowd. For the past year he has been able to hold his head up high and was considered the toughest guy in the valley. All of that was crumbling down in front of everyone who came to see their champion dominate. He was afraid of the mockery he was going to face. He was afraid of becoming a bully victim all over again. He was afraid he would have to live the rest of his life as the laughingstock of the valley. That psychological fear was very real and something he never had to face. By this point in his life he had matured enough to understand the consequences of his actions. Daniel was fearless in Part I and II, but that was due to ignorance rather than courage.

1. Daniel tried to fight the All Valley Champ on the beach. Fearless due ignorance.
2. Daniel hosed down the All Valley Champ again. Fearless due to ignorance.
3. Daniel antagonized Chozen rather than try to make friends with him, again fearless due to ignorance.
4. Daniel accepted a fight to the death against Chozen, again, fearlessness due to ignorance. Miyagi even had to tell Daniel that it was for real, implying that Daniel thought Sato would step up and referee the match.
5. Daniel threatened the life of Mike Barnes (He said Mike was dead. Implying that he would assassinate Mike after he climbs up the cliff), fearlessness due to ignorance.
