Which is good considering you didn't rate it.

reply

There’s some serious continuity issues but it’s still entertaining.

reply

So you're mostly happy then?

reply

They didn’t need to include Daniel. It could have just been centered around the Kai with LaRusso, at most, serving as a Milos-type butler to Johnny. If it had properly followed the timeline, the dojo would have already been a household name like Amazon or McDonalds. Mr Silver was on the verge of opening 20 locations around the valley at the end of Part III. Given his business acumen and prior success, the franchise had the potential to expand across the country.

reply

It did follow the proper timeline. Cobra Kai failed because of their antics in KK3. But I agree that it didn't need to include Daniel. In fact I mentioned years ago that after KK1 the only interesting story was Johnny's or maybe Kreeses prior to Karate Kid.

reply

I’m not comfortable with these civil exchanges. Hostilities shall be resumed.

reply

That's fine, but just remember who resumed the hostilities.

reply

No mercy.

reply

You won't be getting any.

reply

It's already been around for a few years and all these articles act like its brand new. How stupid are these people?

I kinda/sorta suspect the second wave of interest to be bigger than the first (if only I could pick stocks like this) when Netflix reran the series before launching the planned final season. Youtube was just launching, and Cobra Kai was one of the launch vehicles that helped it get some traction. Original KK fans of course knew about this and watched.

Netflix is a bigger platform, so it grabbed a lot of Netflix watchers who tuned in perhaps out of boredom, and realized that it is indeed extraordinarily well written, produced, and acted.

I also suspect the final season won't be. If the third series turns out to be a major hit for Netflix, they may rethink the plan to scrap it after purchasing the already completed third series.
