This was worse than Resurrection and RZH1&2, to be honest

At least those had some redeeming qualities even if they didn't need to be made! This film however is bland, the Myers house isn't supposed to be a big 3-story mansion, it's supposed to be a 2-story house. Jamie Lloyd is nearly mute for the first half of the film and the characters are so 1-denominational they make Friday The 13th's characters look Shakespearean in comparison. The only good thing about this film was the laundry chute towards the end of the film and maybe the police station explosion but that's it. Even H6 is superior, at least they got the Myers house right in that one and I heard the Producer's Cut version was really good!

Halloween 5 (not Halloween 4) Destroyed The Franchise

I've always enjoyed Halloween 4 (I mean... for what it is) and have always said it was a decent and acceptable return for the series. That being said, although Halloween 4 is far from perfect (I do have many issues with the film) it was in fact Halloween 5, not Halloween 4, that put the nail in the coffin for the Halloween franchise.

I agree. This is my worst movie in the Halloween franchise. Only the ending is somewhat good.

I’m responding to you because the rest of the posts are 8 years old. I question the sanity of anyone who loves Halloween and Myers, but hates 5.

I wish people could elaborate more, because folks are missing the forest for the trees with this film and are being triggered by some minute unsavory detail.

Hanna Barbara cops
Myers’ tear
Man In Black
Myers mansion
Untucked Mask
Rachel-love
Tina-hate

These are all criticisms that I’ve heard over the last 30 years, but to me, these are minor quibbles that shouldn’t be allowed to intrude on the enjoyment of such an epic film.

I’m curious of how you feel about 4 & 6, since I can’t really imagine liking those, but then hating 5. It’s a solid trilogy with a satisfying story arc.

What was worst for me was the annoying characters (Tina and her friends) who made me root for Michael. I especially hated the blond kid and his girlfriend, and was like 'Michael, come do your thing now!' You can argue that this was the idea (rooting for Michael), but they were given too much screen time for it to work IMHO.

Also Dr. Loomis being crazy and totally unsympathetic to Jamie.

I do like 4 and 6. I don't see how 5 is much connected to 4 anyway. A lot of people say 5 ruined the ending of 4, even though arguably an 8 year old Jamie filling Michael's shoes wouldn't work. 6 connects to the ending of 5, but I said the ending was the only thing I liked.
