It was filled with more pop songs than actual music from a composed score. I think there are so many iconic moments from the score in the first movie and that feeling was lacking in the second one.

IT SURE DOESNT HELP.

Funny, I rewatched both Ghostbusters 1 and 2 recently after SO many years. The first one still holds up. The second one however, didn't work for me as well as it did when I was younger.

One of the main reasons to that is the fact that the whole New Yor city seems to had been strock by some kind of amnesia epidemic. Like, everyone treats the Ghostbusters like a fraud and all seem to think that ghosts don't exist... even though the WHOLE city have seen/knew what happened to the building at 55 Central Park West in the first movie and they knew that it was a paranormal phenomenon AND that Ghostbusters saved the day. The way they are treated just feel like an inconsistency to me.

I think the main reason they did that was that they didn't want to be like the cartoon that was still on at the time.
