Jack Nicholson had the best mix for Joker

Cesar Romero was excellent at portraying Joker's silly side, and Heath Ledger did well at showing the villain's disturbing qualities. Jack Nicholson was a smooth blend of the two. He displayed scary crimes with an oddly amusing air. That best held the attitude of the character.

That makes sense. If you take them in order you can trace an evolution of the character; Romero = silly, Nicholson = silly/disturbing, Ledger - disturbing. Nicholson bridged the other two (love all three, by the way).

Thank you, DoctorThirteen. I like the other actors as Joker too, but Jack Nicholson's portrayal is most comfortable.

I agree. He was the perfect mix of funny and scary. And that's exactly what we need.

Thank you, George. Yes, it is.

Yeah, one thinks Jack Nicholson was THEE best Joker.

Best Batman - probably Val Kilmer. He had the right mix of smooth enough for Bruce Wayne, athletic enough for Batman.

Best Catwoman - no doubt in my mind, MIchelle Pfeiffer

Best Penguin - have to go way back on this one - Burgess Meredith

Best Riddler - Well, I think I'll go way back again - Frank Gorshin
