Prefer Chucky's original look

I think I might be the only one with this opinion but I honestly think I preferred Chucky in the first three Child's Play movies. First- I liked the look better. He looked like he could be mistaken as an actual child's toy, like the talking dolls that were popular in the 1980s and the recurring My Buddy and Kid Sister dolls. His stitched together look is unrealistic (I know talking dolls aren't very realistic but hear me out). You can't stitch plastic and there's no way in Hell you would, in your right mind, mistake that for an ordinary toy. Second - The first three films felt a bit more serious, like actual horror and less self-parodying. I like the first two child's play movies best, personally.

I totally agree they messed up when they decided to make Chucky more comedy-like instead of scary. The first 3 films was straight horror mixed with some humor but personally to me the First Child's Play movie will always be a fan favorite because it was pure scaryness and had a very dark tone to it.

I'm not a huge fan of much from the self-aware Scream era.

Agreed.

It's kind of where the genre had to go though. Horror fans are so jaded and have seen it all that nothing is actually scary. Some of it that was serious at one point is now seen as funny even. So with knowing that, there was nowhere else to go other than the ironic/in on the joke style.

Scream kicked it off but now every horror flick is self aware and makes fun of itself. But if they don't, they're seen as cheesy and too serious. Personally I like both types of flick, so it doesn't bother me. Some of the best horror comedy of all time has come out in the last 20 years or so.

Agreed.

They made a mockery out of the character and franchise when they brought Tiffany.

I agree I like chuckys original un scarred look. I have a red headed my buddy doll with clothes very close to chuckys. Looks similar to a unscarred chucky. I am disappointed that the full sized chucky doll they have only comes as the scarred one.

Chucky was only scary in the first movie, i couldn't take him seriously in the sequels.

They were COMEDIES!

The second movie was pretty good. They just made a joke of him by the time of bride of chucky
