I missed most of these in original run (now seeing it on Laff), but I thought the daughters always lived with him since the first episode.

Episode 5 had Carol in her own place - when did they move in??

I think they had them all move in because it was easier to write storylines if they were all in the same house.

He did live alone. Barbara moved in when she lost her place in the first episode. Carol moved in when she realized she missed being with her family.
