After taking down Al Capone, the real-life Eliot Ness achieved even greater law enforcement success in his next job as public safety director of Cleveland. The city, now with Capone out of Chicago, would become the most lawless and crooked metropolis in America.

Granted far wider power (after all, despite his celebrated over-achievements, Ness in Chicago was simply a federal Prohibition enforcer), the supercop not only brought the Cleveland mob to heel, cleaned up police bribe-taking and reduced crime dramatically, he did so with innovative practices that have become commonplace in law enforcement today.

Since it's Cleveland, Drew Carey should probably play Ness. The sound of his voice would probably make the mobsters turn in their guns voluntarily and relocate.

You know, I am tired of the hate Drew Carey gets sir. He saved ABC primetime in the mid to late 90s and what? No thanks. No nothing. And btw, he would make an excellent Elliot Ness. An Elliot Ness that is so sweet and cuddly that little kids can sit on his lap and say " hey I'm going to give you an eskimo kiss right now!!!

Costner is too old for a sequel. So maybe you mean an unrelated movie about Ness?

Kevin Costner has always been one of those "I don't do sequels to my movies" actors anyway.

Plus because of the stylization of of DePalma's direction and Mamet's script, a true sequel would be dependent on them, more so than Costner.
