Is it ok for men to like this movie?

A friend recommended this movie to me. I'm considering buying the DVD, but just want to make sure, is this a movie that is ok for men to like? Or is it more of a girl's movie? (I'm a man btw)

I hope you've learned a lesson from this thread. Don't let others tell you what you can or can't enjoy. Be yourself.

The Princess Bride is a fantastic movie. I'm 36, married with two kids.

No, you are forbidden from liking this movie, because I said so.

It's easy to overlook this movie because of the title. It has little to do with the movie as a whole (even though it does involve a bride who is also a princess). But the title makes it sound like the *beep* little mermaid. Like something an 8-year old girl would enjoy. It's the polar opposite of that.

It's more akin to something like Airplane or Spinal Tap. Except it's a parody of the fantasy genre.

And it's both hilarious and endlessly quotable.

In hindsight they should have changed the title. I'm sure it would have done better sales-wise.

Anecdotally I can confirm these statistics to be super-true. I know heaps more guys that rate this movie highly, so there you have it.

Are you kidding? Fencing, fighting, torture, revenge, giants, monsters, chases, escapes, true love, miracles...
Doesn't sound too bad, does it?
Just try to stay awake and see how it goes.
