Is it ok for men to like this movie?

A friend recommended this movie to me. I'm considering buying the DVD, but just want to make sure, is this a movie that is ok for men to like? Or is it more of a girl's movie? (I'm a man btw)

reply

It's not okay for men to like this movie. It's okay for REAL MEN to like this movie.

Supermodels...spoiled stupid little stick figures mit poofy lips who sink only about zemselves.

It's worth watching just for Andre the Giant. And Andre once drank 127 beers in one sitting. Not much more manly than that.

reply

Yeah - you gotta watch it just for Andre, man. It's a shame he got into doing movies so late in life, I think he could have found a serious niche and possibly even widened his scope if he'd had more time. I grew up during his wrestling days and he was always my favorite of them all. He just seemed more real than the rest.

Only the title is chic-flicky. The movie itself is basically a swashbuckling action adventure. Keep in mind that the story is one that is read by a grandfather to his grandson.

If you were a man you wouldn't ask for permission if it's ok for you to like something. Dump that shame and embrace whatever it is you like, women will find you more attractive for that self confidence. Personally I sometimes specifically search for chick lit novels when I'm in the mood for it and last time I checked I still have two nuts swinging between my legs.

As for this movie (and book), both women and men usually enjoy it equally so you needn't worry, it will not make you any less masculine to watch this movie.

NO!

It is NOT ok and you should NEVER WATCH THIS FILM AGAIN!

Seriously?? It's ok for a man to watch ANY MOVIE he feels like watching. My husband is 6'2 and a MAN & he loves this movie so do both of my sons.

Pssstt. My husband also loves Disney's The Little Mermaid.. I guarantee that NOBODY ever has or ever will razz him about it.. And if they had the nerve to do so, he would laugh at 'em..

Like what YOU like and don't worry so much about other's perception & opinions of your choices.
When you take away all the BS, what somebody else thinks about "us" isn't really all that important..

Wow, I can't remember the last time I saw The Little Mermaid. I have the fish and crab Holiday Ornaments from McDonald's from when it came out in theatres originally, and I think that was the last time I saw it. But, hey, good for him (Sleeping Beauty is my favorite Disney movie)!

Love Sleeping Beauty.. And I had some of those ornaments too.. Can't recall what happened to them.. Hum....

My personal favorite of Disney's Classics would be Cinderella but I also love the comedy of Peterpan. If you watch Peterpan as an adult, it's hysterical. I laugh uncontrollably at the scene where Smee is rowing Hook to the ship with the Croc hot on Hook's tail. Priceless comedy right there..

Of the more recent Disney Films Brave is very good and Oh the Rapunzel one...... Tangled that's it.. Those are both very good..
I admit, I'm an adult that will still go see a Disney film in theaters.. LOL

I haven't seen Peter Pan in a long time. If you can get hold of it, I highly recommend Song of the South.

i would say it's compulsory

reply

The only way to know if you'll like it is to watch it. Personally, I didn't like, but that's because it's not my kind of film.

reply

You're going to buy the DVD?? What is wrong with you??
This should only be seen on blu-ray.
