Cool movie, but I could have done without Fastway.

Looking at Sammi Curr, I don't imagine him sounding like Fastway. I'm thinking more like Metallica or better yet, Mercyful Fate. That's my only problem with it.

I always thought Lizzy Borden would've been a good band to go with. Their song "Outcast" would've fit this movie well.

The movie came out in 1986 but was made in 1985. The producers used popular metal bands with an ee-vil, satanic vibe like Motley Cure & WASP as a prototype for Sammi Curr and the original soundtrack. Twisted Sister, KISS, Alice Cooper and AC/DC were other obvious examples. Fastway's soundtrack fit the bill.

In 1985 bands like Mercyful Fate were decidedly underground cult groups. Actually, Mercyful Fate remained a cult band up to their (currently) final album in 1999. King Diamond (the band) was more popular, but their first album didn't debut until 1986.

Producers naturally wanted to sell as many tickets as possible and didn't care about way less popular cult bands.
