taratino make overrate film. not offences to his fan on here. but he is hack! i do not enjoy his film. his film are stupid.

reply

You're not entirely wrong.

I WANT to like Tarantino's movies but they're just too... self-indulgent.

I think Tarantino's best movie is still Jackie Brown. It's a mostly semi-logical film that has a self-contained story with believable enough characters.

It's just enough money at stake where you could believe a two-bit crook would kill a person or two for it, but not enough where there would be a massive bodycount like in some movies.

Everything else Tarantino has made is just too pretentious and indulgent to warrant wanting to watch again. Kill Bill could have been that movie, but once again, lots of weird tonal shifts, and inconsistent pacing make it difficult to watch more than once. Vol 2 is a little better but almost even more tonally disjointed than the first film as it's more crime-thriller than action film.

Hateful Eight is just... it's such a chore and the pay-off for sitting through it isn't really worth it.

Pulp Fiction is probably the most over-rated film of all time. There were a few really good scenes, mostly the Bruce Willis parts, but it was too long for what it was without really saying anything substantial until the very end.

Django Unchained was a tiresome film, and I didn't really care about rooting for Django, which is not a good thing for a movie titled after a character seeking revenge. And Once Upon A Time In Hollywood was another one of those films where it had a lot of wasted space on nothing, with only a few really good scenes (like Leonardo DiCaprio's breakdown on the set, and his partial redemption on that very same set). Beyond that the film was pretentious in that self-indulgent way once again, without really being about anything worth remembering or caring about.

yes agrees 100 percent.

his film are equivalence of click bait. there is no subtle in his film. he repeatedly bash audience on head with message. his film are all style and little substances. he steals from older director like brian de palmas.

his film inglorious bastards is just a "kill nazis" film. same with djangos "kill racist". click bait films.

tarantino make film for philistines who think they're watching great film because philistines dont know difference between great films or hack films pretending to be great film.

reply

Or drum roll people simply disagree with you. I love how people such as yourself can't grasp that people enjoy something you don't. You have to lob an insult as to why they enjoy something you don't. No someone who understands cinematic art can also enjoy a Tarantino film.

reply

Coming from the guy who claimed trash like the Expendables to be an excellent film? This is rich. Tarantino produces great films as an artist. You not liking them does not change where they will rank in cinematic history.

reply

Nah, as more people step back from the hype and view them in isolation, a lot of people will come away with similar assessments of his films as some of us here at MovieChat have. Even some people on IMDB point out these flaws and it's not like I've ever talked to those people about his films. Plus his foot fetish in Once Upon A Time In Hollywood was not only gross and distracting, but completely unnecessary.

reply

Nope even over time Tarantino's films rank highly among critics, film fans and are relevant in pop culture. His films have not faded into obscurity. You simply don't like them. Pulp fiction is old and is still a loved film. You are not the sole authority on what determines a great film. His films are part of cinematic history. Sorry bud your opinion doesn't change this.

reply

Sorry to tell you this, but films like Inglorious Basterds really aren't that great, nor it is something really worth remembering, as opposed to the original film, which actually was really great and a true pop cultural icon (something Tarantino attempted to steal the thunder from).

And the only thing anyone would remember from Hateful Eight is the rat poison scene, because most of everything else is forgettable.

reply

You hate to tell me? Lol yeah you have not cracked some secret code and you are not informing me on anything. You simply think your view is gospel truth and that no one can disagree with you. You do not determine where a film will rank in cinematic history. I do not either. The difference is I do not have an inflated sense of self worth like you do. Dial back the ego and realize there are films people love you do not like. Tarantino's films are considered great by the mass majority of critics, people and are relevant in pop culture. It is time to grow up mature accept these facts and move on. What have you produced in life other than crap in a toilet?

reply

Gays projecting their gay thoughts onto "Top Gun" again.

reply

You think Tarantino is gay?

reply

Tarantino isn't gay.
It's good he became a filmmaker.
Otherwise he would've become a serial killer.

reply

Who says he isn't both?

reply

A filmmaker and a serial killer?
