Please explain

Watching this right now. The scene where the old boy tips his barrow over. Daniel helps him, they go up to weigh in and the basket drops to the floor and tips the weights over. Daniel picks up the weight which seems to be made of clay or something. How exactly does that work? If it's lighter than it's supposed to be the only person being conned is the man paying as he presumably is paying by the weight of the product which would appear to be more than it actually is?

reply

It only works if they were selling vegetables off their truck ... which they clearly were not, since Daniel helped the old guy carry carrots TO the truck

reply

Yeah, it makes no sense. The villagers will presumably be pissed at Daniel for ruining their lucky scam - whereby Chozen was over-paying them without realising it.

Add this to all the ruin and chaos caused by Miyagi’s return and you can imagine the villagers cheering as they flew home.

In my job, I work with a lot of different types of metals, and there are some like lead which are heavier than iron or steel but are on the soft or brittle side which could possibly break when dropped heavily so this might not have been a mistake.

reply

I dunno man, that thing looked as light and easy to snap as a clay pigeon.
