fun little movie.

Quite a fun little adventure movie--Oh sure, it's a B-movie but it's one of the few that can be truly a lot of fun.

I dont give a toss if its a B Movie, I still like it and i always have since i last saw it as a kid, It is also the same age as myself too

I saw it for the first time today and I must admit that I did enjoy it. I reckon I would have enjoyed it a lot more if I'd seen it when I was a lot younger though. I still don't understand how the old dude knew that Ferguson would be going time travelling mind.

"I want Tong Po! Give me Tong Po!"

I've always felt I was an expert on this movie until I read your post. I don't know how Captain Raymond knew that James Ferguson was James Bigglesworth's Time-Twin. Will have to research this.

I agree! It's a great little film, a lot of fun as you say. You can tell from the DVD extras that they really enjoyed making this film.

The sort of film you watch every ten years.

reply

Exactly right. Some films you don't watch so often, but feel a need to see every several years.

** POSSIBLE SPOILER BELOW **

The death scene with the biplane and the haunting music gives me a very strange feeling each time. You really feel for the character, even though you never really knew he had a love interest (from memory). It makes you wish you were able to get to know him more.

On my list of good-bad movies and still enjoy the silliness when it turns up on YouTube.

It’s on tv in the uk now (Legend)

It's a watchable movie, despite the low budget, dodgy acting and dated effects.

But the thing that grates on me is the song Hero, sung by Jon Anderson. A dreadful song, with those horrible 80s style orchestra stabs.

And I speak as someone who grew up listening to Yes. I can only assume he was paid a lot of money.

And talking of this movie being on TV today, I also watched Gunbus (Sky Pirates) today on UK TV. What an utter mess of a movie. I remember it being made, they spent a fortune on it. They got the guy who did the flying effects for the Superman movies to direct...Zoran Perisic. A bizarre decision.

Story revolves around two cowboys who learn to fly during WW2, steal planes and try to bring down a huge German airship. The two leads, whose names escape me, were totally forgettable, as were most of the cast. Ronald Lacey was in the twilight of his career, and we get a pre Only Fools And Horses Nicholas Lyndhurst.

The shame is the sets and production design we're very good, but the model work and effects let it down badly.
