They should have just gotten Dalton

Imagine a simple rewrite, fewer jokes, trimming the Paris and fire truck chases, and Dalton vs Walken. This movie would have been better.

It's not a new idea, there have been countless threads about that on this board, as well as every post-Moonraker Moore film. I don't know why people are so obsessed with going back and doing an imaginary recast of Moore's films with Dalton rather than just wish he had been able to continue his tenure as Bond with additional films.

"Dan Marino should die of gonorrhea and rot in hell. Would you like a cookie son?"

oh I think that should had been as well. Dalton should had been in Goldeneye. They just took wayyyyy too much time getting it all together.

I actually agree. I think Dalton would had been amazing in this film. The Pre credit scene would had been perfect for bringing Dalton into the new Role for Bond. A lot of the scene were tailor made for Dalton. Mainly the scene between Bond and Zorin. The end Blimp scene when Bond ties the rope to the bridge.

In saying that I thought Roger did a good job as Bond as well in this film. But I also think Roger stayed one film too long.

I don't see how having 2 James Bond in the same movie being a good thing. Roger Moore was enough

Disagree.

Moore is a bit past his sell by date in this one for sure but it's still part of the suite of classic Bond films.

Having Dalton instead would have just given us another crappy Timothy Dalton Bond film. Sure the Daniel Craig "Bond" apologists would give it a retconned pass but, lets be honest, no one would ever be rewatching it as they currently do.

Roger Moore was admittedly, a bit passed his expiration date when he made A View to a Kill. And I too sometimes, wonder how Timothy Dalton would've fared had he been able to come in a movie earlier. Still, I wish that Roger had gotten a better send off than A View to a Kill. There really wasn't any justifiable reason that I can think of for him to come back unlike with Octopussy, since it came out the same exact year as that rival Bond movie (Never Say Never Again) with Sean Connery.

This would have been garbage with Dalton.

It's not the best Bond, even of Sir Roger's superior efforts. But probably the highlight is the pre title credits sequence.

It's brilliant. Up there with the best of all Bond openings, culminating with the Sir Roger classic "Call me James, it's five days until Alaska...".

Timothy Dalton would 100% have ruined this classic opening.
