was the movie really called Creepers here in the US?

Even though i was young back in 1985, i think the movie was still known as Phenomena here in the U.S.

also i think everyone is off about the year the movie was released for VHS etc. Couldve sworn the movie was in video rental stores for VHS back in 1984

Creepers is the title of the US/International cut that is some 23 mins shorter than the Italian version. That was the title it went by in the US and from what information I've gathered it seems the Phenomena cut was only released in the US on DVD in 2008. All previous home media releases available in the US were the Creepers cut and titling.

Not sure why you think everyone else is wrong when it's more reasonable that you are misremembering. Creepers was only released in theatres in the US on August 1985 and it got a VHS release in the US in 1986.

sure whatever. Forgot you were all knowing and wise about old italian horror movies.

couldve sworn it was known as Phenomena when it was for VHS back then when it was available at the vidoe rental store.

But whatever.

reply

Sure whatever. Perhaps there is a grand conspiracy to gaslight people into thinking a false cut of the movie was released in the US when really everyone was watching Phenomena (runtime: 116mins), even on VHS a full year before the movie was released theatrically in it's own homeland of Italy.

Spread your gospel good sir, people need to know that it's all a lie. Maybe make some calls and get all this info online - dates, titles and runtimes corrected.

Maybe it had the Phenomena poster art on the cover box at your local VHS rental store circa 1986 (not 1984 that's impossible), the cut would have been the Creepers version though. Or whatever.
