shareThe first 3 are worth a watch. The second one has grown on me over the years. It's a little strange, but Freddy isn't cracking one liners, so there is still a scare factor. 3 is where that starts but it's still a solid sequel, and probably the best sequel in my opinion. Once it gets to 4 they get progressively worse, but I'd be lying if I didn't at least partially enjoy them, but other than 4 I don't know if I've rewatched any of them.
New Nightmare is worth a watch as well. It's a self aware meta horror, but I would recommend it.
Don't listen to this guy, he is exactly who i came here to complain about. These people all say the same thing that 1,3,7 are the only good ones but they are reluctant to put part 3 in there and don't really want to but do just because Wes Craven is in the credits.
They recently started trying to adapt Part 2 after telling me i should feel bad for liking it my whole life because they want social justice points in modern times and they'll mention Part 4 because deep down under their snobby elitist facade where only Wes Craven is good they know they had the most fun with Part 4. They'll tell you Part 7 is the best because it brings their snobby elitism full circle.
For my money as a Freddy fan and not a Wes Craven fan i say all you need 1-6 and Freddy vs Jason and skip New Nightmare and the remake and as just a Freddy fan you can even skip Freddy vs Jason but if you are also a Jason fan than FVJ is a must see.
Are you telling me that I shouldn't listen to myself? So I can't have an opinion on these movies that differs from yours?
