"See if you can get a few of those typewriters to follow you"

This is how I heard Lando's line when I first saw this as a kid, and what I thought it was for many years. Wonder if I'm the only one.

I thought he was insulting the Empire by calling their fighters dated tech, or something, especially the way Farrell responded "copy... gold leader" as if Lando had just made a bad joke. :)

I never heard it that way before, but now I'll never NOT hear "typewriters." lol

This topic reminds me that the last time my Grandma bought a typewriter was back in 2000. She refused to learn how to use a computer and even later quit going to the library when they replaced the card catalog with a computer back around that time. Just reminded me of that. I can't really blame her. She was born in 1931 and computers didn't become a big selling item til the 1980s when she was in her 50s. I do think you thinking he said that is funny. Though at the time this movie was originally made my Grandma was still teaching and using a type writer. I can remember being a kid and being in her classroom. She had a computer in it but I don't think she used it. I remember it had some Sesame Street game on it where you mix and match the different characters heads, chests/stomachs, and legs. But I think she only had it for her students to use.

Lol. Fortunately I had played a LOT of X-Wing and TIE Fighter growing up, so I always heard it as "TIE Fighter's."
