Did anyone else feel bad for Cujo? (SPOILERS)

From the very start, we see Cujo just innocently playing catch the rabbit, and can see him before he got sick. He was more like Beethoven at that point.

So, with that said, even when he was on his murderous rampage, I could still see that innocent animal we saw in the beginning of the movie. So when it came time for his end, I couldn't help but feel like he was a victim as well. Did anyone else feel this way?

I felt really sad for Cujo considering his state...he was a loving and handsome big boy that got rabies and started attacking people

He had to be put down...no options

Sad story all around

I remember an incident where I was walking home late one night as a teenager when I came upon a couple walking their St. Bernard. He alerted and came loping toward me with a loud WOOF! I can remember freaking and freezing in my tracks seeing that huge animal coming at me in the darkness. On all fours, he appeared at least as tall as me ! Then, to think of it being rabid to boot. That memory is why Cujo impacted me. King tapped into real life horror with that story.

Big dog!
Bernards are massive
Id freak out too for sure

When i was in middle school a crazy hillbilly nearby had a wild ass mixed breed mutt that would stalk and scare the hell out of me and my little sister everyday on the way to the schoolbus...that damned dog was a maniac!

That half wild mutt finally came right at us one day...Sis and i beat its ass with a stick and a bunch of rocks

We probably should have beat its owner as much but we were just kids and happy to get home

The walk to and from the schoolbus was peaceful after the lesson we taught that horrible dog though
