The Eye of the Tiger can mean different things to people but to a boxer, a fighter it's putting more than 110% of yourself into tour preparation, physically, mentally and spiritually. You put yourself into a mindset of complete determination to win, to succeed that that you can go through a grueling battle if it comes to that and no matter how much pain or injury you have and with no fear or repercussions, you'll be the one standing getting your hand raised at the end. Your physical skills, your will to win and survive, the hunger and desire to succeed or regain that success, the heart to never give up and the ability to alter tactics = The Eye of the Tiger.

Something Clubber Lang had in the first fight.

The hunger to be the best.

This. All the fighters in the LA gym had the hunger, the eye of the tiger because they wanted to be the best - they hadn't become civilised like Apollo had in Rocky II and Rocky himself in Rocky III. Civilised meaning training with an audience or wearing a suit to the airport and living in fancy house with maids etc.

Clubber had the eye of the tiger because he was still "from the street" and was working out alone with nothing but a bad look on his face !

I was never one to hold grudges. My father held grudges, I'll always hate him for that

Yeah, the best at putting a hurtin' in the sack on Adrian. They looked more lusty for her than Clubber at the statue dedication.

When theres no more room in Hollywood, remakes shall walk the Earth.

My question is; can you have the "eye" of other animals as well? Can one have the eye of the gopher? The parakeet? The box turtle?

But Rocky didn't have it in the second movie. He looked a bit goofy before the fight, while Apollo was very serious and determined.

Good point. Maybe Apollo just wasn’t as good a fighter as Rocky, at that point.

...rising up to the challenge of our rival!

If you have to ask...you don't have it...

It is that hunger, focus, unrelenting determination and drive that makes you push on even when you think you have nothing left to give. It's not fueled by money, or fame...it is simply the challenge and belief in yourself that makes you unstoppable - it is located in the very core of your being that you draw on to keep going despite all the obstacles. Some people refer to it as the 'killer instinct' but I like "Eye of the Tiger" better.

It just means hunger. Too much success makes people too satisfied. That is what happened to Rocky. He lost his edge and his hunger to win. Clubber had plenty of that.

That Sinbad movie.
