Yeah.

The film captures the story of many war veterans, showing how a war can affect certain people (psychologically, socially, economically) long after the war is over and the people have apparently moved on.

It’s up there but I say Platoon and Apocalypse Now, maybe the Deer Hunter have it beat

I'd say 'Go Tell The Spartans' is better than any of the movies you mention.
