Luckily there wasn't any gun control in Nepal. And in any other countries where Indy went, so he could travel freely with his revolver.

Egypt had also a VERY relaxed policy about foreign armed forces on their soil, so they let nazis dig around freely. It was the year 1936, so it wasn't a war time yet.

$3000 is not physically, a large amount of money. You could fit that in your wallet without a significant bulge. I think its feasible.
