Favorite Stories?

The space-court scene with Captain Stern and Hanover Fist is my favorite

Taarna all the way! And I liked Den.

There is no objective reality... and that's Sucker Punch

Den, far and away.

It has an appealing idealism over the other stories with a fun fantasy concept. More importantly, John Candy is incongruently perfect as the title character with a narration of an naive kid giving the eroticism and drama a valuable tongue-in-cheek ambience.

Den, and Harry Canyon.

Sig, you want a sig, here's a SIG-sauer!

"So Beautiful & So Dangerous", I thought the scene where they were operating the spaceship stoned was hilarious.

So Beautiful & So Dangerous (the one with the stoned aliens) I'm sure Guardians of the Galaxy 2 was heavily influenced by it. Visuals, designs, soundtrack, it's all there.

I liked Taarna as well, and the episode with the WWII pilots. The noir part was okay too.

Harry Canyon.

Den #1 When I saw it first as a 16-year-old boy it was like all my daydreams had suddenly come to life.
Taarna #2 thanks to Black Sabbath, the mutant army attacking the city and Taarna herself.
Harry Canyon #3 I also loved dark future stories, so this was great. First cartoon nudity I ever saw, too.
B-17 #4 Reminded me of the old DC Weird War comics I liked to read.
So Beautiful & So Dangerous #5. I loved the space travel with the stoned aliens set to the Sammy Hagar song "Heavy Metal"
Captain Stern #6. I liked it, but it was not as interesting as the other stories to me.
Framing story #7 I really liked the opening with the car entering the atmosphere and the song Radar Rider but overall the rest of the framing sequence didn't do too much for me.
If you count the Neverwhere sequence that was not included in the theatrical release, I would put it between 6 and 7.
