Horrible movie

Anyone else a big fan of the first two movies? Omen 1 and 2 got televised in the UK close together but they refused to televise Omen 3.

I wish I'd never watched it. I can't take Sam Neill seriously after I watched Jurassic Park.

It's not as good as the first two, but it still isn't a bad movie. I liked the idea of Damien taking over the role of Ambassador following in his adoptive father's footsteps and I also liked the subplot of the second coming of Christ which resulted in one of the most memorable endings I've seen in a movie. But overall it isn't quite as fun to watch as the first two despite it's good qualities. Omen IV isn't nearly as bad as people say and I actually like it better than the third one.

I agree about Omen II and the comedy death scenes.

Too many death scenes that bordered on the 'cheesy side':

Doc in elevator gets cut in half
Mark's brain 'hemorrhage' in the snow
Archeologist gets crushed between the train carriages
Aunt Marion's induced chest pains courtesy of the evil raven.

I don't really see how any of those are cheesy.

IMO, some of the death scenes in Omen II came across as slightly 'cheesy' because they were too contrived and/or badly executed (pardon the pun).

In The Omen (superior plot and acting performances), the death scenes were weaved into a chilling story where the tension was built up deliciously before each death. The nanny hanging scene in Omen I, was different. More of a short, sharp shock-tactic to get the ball rolling. It worked brilliantly.

At times in Omen II, it felt as if the story was revolving around the death scenes, dictating the direction of the plot. They were forced in, to get the 'scares'.

Doc in elevator gets cut in half:

Almost like a scene from the 'Final Destination' films. The doctor, gets killed literally two minutes after identifying Damien's blood type. Come off it. At least give the evil supernatural-powers-that-be some time to figure out how they're going to kill him! An over-elaborate elevator malfunction finishes with the doc just lying on the floor, awaiting to be cut in half. Wasn't the best acting in the world either.

Mark's brain 'hemorrhage' in the snow:

The terrible acting makes you want to laugh. Mark gurgles and contorts, but it was poor. What was supposedly meant to be an emotionally powerful scene - it should have been cut and re-worked somehow.

Archeologist gets crushed between the train carriages:

The laws of physics are ignored as Charles Warren gets jolted by a train carriage, but instead of falling to the ground, he somehow gets 'picked up' by it. His hips are magically stuck to the carriage and another Final Destination death occurs. Unsatisfactory.

Aunt Marion's induced chest pains courtesy of the evil raven:

We'd already seen the work of the Raven in the opening scene with Buggenhagen. It was too early to show the bird again. Aunt Marion looks into its eyes and has a heart attack - the 'chilling' music ends before it's even started. That's rubbish. The bad-ass Rottweilers's couldn't even do that to their victims. Again, badly acted scene. Seeing her die wasn't necessary IMO. It would have been more chilling to just show her dead the next morning, and let the audience think and speculate.

The *beep* are you on about ..cheesy

there are some graphic, horrible deaths that stick with you for decades. There is absolutely nothing wrong with the execution of any of the deaths at all.
maybe you do see them coming ..but you still dont know how and the music and the mood lets you know something is about to happen anyway.

Final destination came out over 20 years after Damien: Omen 2 ...yes final destination is a lame over milked series but a film about fate catching people in the form of hideous accidents had a right to be made... ( the only gripe i have with final destination are all the *beep* actors of that crappy era that starred in it and the fact they made too many )

The first Omen also has 'final destination' deaths similar , Head slicing , Impaling on lightning rod etc.

Aunt marion was old and didn't need an elaborate death that might bring suspicion ...she acts out a heart attack on screen ..so what
The Raven Caused a Heart Attack and the Dogs have the power to make people to commit suicide ( there u go, they both have their abilities )

Mark's brain 'haemorrhage'..... who know's how this happens or what sound ppl make. This is an overly harsh picky criticism made by too many people ..scene works for me

Love Omen , Love Omen 2 ( cannot understand Hate for this ..it certainly does not look like a 70's cheesy Tv movie )
Omen 3 should have had more "final destination" stuff ( thats what people started to expect )..it didnt deliver and suffered for it.

Final Conflict is the worst of the three but i accept it as part 3 and still do Like it

I dont want to see any "Damien the tv series" it just sounds absurd.

Damien's dead ( yep a little anti climactic he should have suffered a bit or *beep* himself upon seeing the 2nd coming ) ..But never the less its all done and dusted for me.

Omen 4 - now this is a TV movie and it should not be judged alongside the Trilogy. (but I like it also )

The Omen Remake is dogsh*t and its disappointing to see Omen 2 fans clash with Final Conflict ones.

This constant A**hole whining and bitching over things that don't even matter or you ignorantly think is cheesy becoz it looks like the decade it came from.

Everyone being a critic is what has killed everything good in Movies , Music ..pretty much almost everything.

The first two were great! This third one was beyond disappointing. EXCEPT for Goldsmith's score! Which is one of the greatest ever written.

Absolutely AWFUL movie, and a complete insult to the first two great films! I couldn't believe how bad this was. But, it has one of the greatest film scores ever! Jerry Goldsmith was definitely scoring the film he imagined this COULD have been, and not the atrocity that was on screen.

The fourth one (I'm not even sure it's an official sequel) with Faye Grant is far worse.
