If Jack had survived along with Wendy and Danny...

Jack would have been locked away for a long, long time for his abusive and threatening behavior, even absent chasing them around with an ax or the murder of Hallorann. And all before the pound me too movement.

He would have been locked up for good!

At which point are you suggesting they stop the movie and escape, after Wendy smashes him in the head with a bat?

If so Jack could easily claim it was cabin fever and she had gone hysterical. It would be he said she said except Jack has a severe injury to his head. The only evidence Jack was nuts is his little manifesto, but of coarse that was typed out so who could say Wendy didn't type it?

The bruises to Danny could easily have come from Wendy as well considering she is the prominent caregiver.

I would also like to hear her explain where Danny was when he was bruised. A 5 year old running around a giant hotel by himself, sounds irresponsible considering there are stairs, elevators, a boiler, doors to the outside weather, basements and kitchens with freezers to be locked in or stoves to be burned on. I think she has a lot of explaining to do while Jack could say he was taking care of the hotel and writing when she lost it.
