Peckinpaugh Would've Enjoyed the Final Shootout

A mostly average Western about the James-Younger Gang, but the final bank robbery/shootout in Minnesota was worthy of Peckinpaugh. Great practical F/X and some top notch stunt work. Especially the scene where the horses and riders crash through two sets of shop windows. That one scene must've taken so much planning and they pulled it off perfectly.

Fun to see Christopher Guest in a non-comedic role though I kept waiting for him to pipe up a Corky St. Claire voice.

One of the best overlooked Westerns. Has a very authentic feel to it.

Always nice when Netflix adds a classic Western to their offerings.

I thought the final shootout was poorly edited. The whole gang crashes thru the windows on their horses, then you see the 2 of the Carradines getting shot at and struggling on their own away from the rest, 3 random shots of an unknown rider jumping over a brick wall and they the gang is back together riding out of town.
