For Ripley, though, I'd go with Rooney Mara.
Isaac would be better as Dallas, although it would be neat seeing a major name like Isaac get iced first.
Ultimately, though, if they remade Alien, they'd have to really alter the plot. They'd have to make it a similar setup - space crew finds egg, gets mauled - but the twists and deaths are well-known. The whole thing worked so well and to retread it would be futile. They'd have to be savvier people, able to fight a little better. Maybe they'd know what they're getting into. But the revelation from MOTHER close to the end of the movie would be leaked already by virtue of Alien being seen already. So is there another twist?
Plus, the Alien franchise hasn't done anything really great since Aliens. Even Prometheus, which had original concepts and interesting ideas, wasn't well-executed. If they're going to do anything, they should keep going original, just maybe let it bake a little longer. Or, maybe a lot longer.
