How did this show get popular again?

Facts of Life was one of my favorite childhood shows and I enjoyed it for many years in reruns after it went off the air. I even bought the DVDs when they were first issued back in the mid 2000s and was so upset when they seemed to stop issuing after season 4. It just seemed like this show was almost nowhere to be found for the last 10 years. A few cable stations would play it sporadically at random hours (like 2 am) for a few months then pull it off the air. Now all of a sudden in the last 6 months it's playing for several hours per day on both Logo and TVLand. Don't get me wrong, I love to see Facts of Life's resurgence on TV (even my kids are getting into it) just curious about what caused it.

For me its because ITS ON lol. I do enjoy the Eastland episodes more because they seem more stuck on the post-Eastland years.
I am getting tired of some episodes cause they have been aired too often and some I just really dislike and won't watch. I have it on DVR so I will usually catch them late at night and delete the ones I am bored of. I do get more excited when its an Eastland episode tho

Nostalgia push. Sometimes they'll take an older(once popular)sitcom that hasn't been aired in a long time and rerun it to bring back memories for fans and maybe pick up new fans. In the last few years they tried to air Facts of Life on channels catering to the youth demo(TeenNick, The Hub) and for some odd reason it didn't do well, now I guess they're catering to an older audience that'll appreciate it more.

When theres no more room in Hollywood, remakes shall walk the Earth.

I too was upset when they stopped releasing the DVDs. I grew up watching the show and when the DVDs started coming out I started buying them. My girls love the show as much as I do. We were thrilled when the complete series came out.

Maybe Kim Fields being on the current season of The Real Housewives of Atlanta played a role?

Because it’s that awesome.

It was a overwhelmingly female sitcom which showed young women transitioning into adulthood. Really rare to see that even now. Yeah the technology (pay phones...etc) is dated but overall the idea of supporting each other is unique. The girls are different but appreciate each other. They're usually not all fighting over the exact same guy.

REPEATED MENTIONS ON FAMILY GUY.

I don't know about 4 years ago but it's currently running in syndication on MeTV.

I’ve been recording it daily early in the morning and watching it in the afternoons. They are at the tail end of the series now, close to when Blair buys the school so it should be starting over with season 1 again soon.
