Woman fawning over a strong independent man. Scantily clad eye candy for men. A lone man often being the hero. The writing is a product of its time, much different than what you see today.

I wonder what the reaction (if any) would be if it were put on TV today as is (plus updated special effects).

It shouldn't have flown back then, it was so frickin' CHEESY!

They wouldn't make it that way now. Buck would be Trans and probably black and bi sexual. There would be political agendas and not so subtle overtones galore.
