A post on an entirely different board brought up the episodes with plots taken from famous movies:

The Lost Warrior = Shane
The Gun on Ice Planet Zero = The Guns of Navarone
The Magnificent Warriors = The Magnificent Seven
Fire in Space = The Towering Inferno

Some might argue that these were created as homages to the original sources, and yet one must also take into account that this series was rushed into production and scripts were needed as fast as possible.

Has anyone noticed if any of the other episodes plundered other sources for their plots?

Harlan Ellison is the one who called him "Glen Larceny." James Garner and his production company filed a complaint with the writers guild because Larson stole a story so entirely from a Rockford Files episode, that Larson and his production company were fined, and forced to take their screenwriters' names off the project, and give the original Rockford scriptwriters sole writing credit. James Garner reportedly ended up punching Larson out as well.
