Begs to be remade

Just watched this last night and while I can't say that I loved it, there were a lot of things I did enjoy about it. Without going into all the details, this film is very trippy (think a Scooby Doo episode mixed with an acid trip). However, there was enough of a backstory to make for a very interesting and more serious remake if any director feels the need to do so. Think Raimi might of seen this film before he came up with "Evil Dead" because there are some very similar visuals.

NEVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Remakes in general are bad done... just cash in...
This movie is art (not good or bad, just art... some like, some not)

Any kind of remake will kill the mood that made this one...

For sure. Just look at the Evil Dead remake. Everything that was wonderful about the original they threw away. And it was all for a few quick bucks, just cashing in on a name.

Some things should not be remade... this is one of those things. A serious remake would be anything but good.

I disagree about the film begging to be remade. Although elements of the film may not have aged so well (i.e. the film's special effects), it adds to the film's kitsch humour and charm. It really does feel like a madcap Scooby-Doo-esque adventure due to its whimsical, surreal twists and turns. The film, despite its aging, is also still quite accessible and wildly comical - most viewers would surely appreciate it for the exciting, funny film that it is.
