Just watched it with my daughter - like watching it for the first time again

I admit I've seen this movie 100 times. I've been trying to get my kid to watch it for years and she finally gave in last night. I enjoyed watching her reactions out of the corner of my eye so much it brought me back to the first time I saw it. I'm going to do The Shining next.

I highly recommend doing this with a younger person in your life. They might be the only people in the world who haven't seen this flick and don't know how dang incredible it is.

Oh bless! This is lovely! My daughter is 4 weeks old and I have this movie right at the top of the list to experience with her when she is decent age to watch it!

I'd wait 17 years and 48 months before showing her this but then again, by that time, there probably will be a bunch of other shark movies that will be better than this

This movie is perfect! Can’t be replicated

It already has aged a lot. By the time your daughter grows up, think about how much more this movie would have aged. Congrats though with your newborn. All the best

Yes you have point. Technology will be the biggest difference for sure. The movie has battered away all competition for the throne for 48 years so that’s pretty good going! The only movie that came remotely close in my opinion is The Shallows with Blake Lively. Thanks for the congrats! Much appreciated

And how old is she?

This has been true with my kids for all they movies I loved growing up. Watching with them is like watching again for the first time.

Let me add a layer. I did this with my oldest son and the classic "must watch" movies. Then when my youngest son got old enough, we both now have re-watches with him.

Not only do I get to see my youngest experience it for the first time, I also get to see my oldest get the same feeling of watching him experience it with me. It's like level 2.
