You'd like the movie "Book of Numbers" too. It's got Phillip Michael Thomas in it.
It's also about big city hustlers going to a small southern town and encountering racism from the police and others while trying to make some money
For some reason, I don't know too many people who've watched it, but it is to me the best of the "Blaxploitation" genre. So good that I don't know if you can call it Blaxploitation
Thanks for the recommendation. I just finished watching Bucktown – the final fight scene was pretty brutal and surprisingly lengthy.
There's a great interview with Fred Williamson on the new Blu-ray in which he states that the film was based on a true story. Crazy!
My personal favourite blaxploitation film is Truck Turner.
