That Little Laughter SFX As Cold Open Begins...

...it's brief...less than a second?...is the live audience prompted to give a little snicker or something just as it starts?...can it be that perfectly timed every week?

reply

it could be a recording?

reply

I think it is.

It sounds like a laugh track from I'm guessing when John Belushi was on...he would scream and say 5 minutes or something like that for everyone to get into their places and the audience would laugh...

reply

I just saw a discussion elsewhere and someone said it was probably when some stage manager (I forget his name) would shout out "5 seconds!" and get a little titter.

reply

Yes....to me though it sounded like John....

reply

We may be talking about different bits. The sound I posted about is a group of people, the audience.

reply

Yes, you can hear the audience laughing...

There is a bit where you hear someone saying either 5 Minutes or 5 Seconds and that guy sounded so panicked and then the audience starts laughing and I imagine they're laughing at how panicked they actors are because they're supposed to be getting into their places....

reply

I've never heard anybody's voice. Only the titter.
