Did anyone find thse bits really funny?

When Pacino and his partner were chasing that guy by reversing the car at full speed (partner was laughing like a maniac) and that dude is running in his outlandish gear I was laughing so hard and then he slips bad while stopping to go into that building (It looked like the actor had hurt himself in real life as you can see him hobbling in the door). I also laughed when Pacinos partner kicked the toilet door in on top of him.

I laughed like a hyena when Pacino is Pi**ed off with all his colleagues after he had arrested the criminal in the car and starts to rough the guy up in the station much to his colleagues horror. As he is searching the guy before smashing him into the cell he tears the arse clean out of the trousers while looking in his pockets WTF and then he really goes to town on the chair (Great acting by Pacino and the others)

I also laughed at Pacino and the other cop at the dope smoking escapade "This is good *beep* after takig a draw and then looking at the doobie.
"Aww a potato machine, give me some potatas" while fondling the vending machine while on hunkers and then Pacino accuses him of beig weird, replies "I'm weird! look at you, ya hippie!"

Hilarious anyone else think so?

reply

Definitely. The scene where he breaks the chair is pants-pissingly hilarious.

I also loved that 70% of the dialogue in this movie is "Serpico, just take the money."

Shuji Terayama forever.

Especially that part where he roughs him up in front of his colleagues. Yells "STRIP!" and tears his ass out of the trousers.

In the scene after they smoke the pot samples and he's at the potatoes machine on the machine is a written note in black sharpie that says "GOD WANTS YOU TO GO TO CHURCH NOW"
LOL

Someone in another post thinks that running guy actually broke his leg in that scene, but I'm not sure if that's factual or not. But the fall looked almost too real to be a stunt.

But now lets talk about the pants ripping scene in the police station, LOL. It was at that point that I realized that I must have seen a little bit of this film before (perhaps 30 years ago or more). I vaguely remember my younger sister saying "How embarrassing for him" or words to that effect. Interesting to come back all these years later and actually watch the whole film.

Pacino is known for overacting.

The car reversing scene was amusing.

I also liked it when Serpico drops the other cop who had the knife at the station. That was a great move. I think it leads to the chair scene which was good too.
