My All time favorite is: any of the songs with Pilate in them
then it's Gethsemane, Heaven On Their Minds, and Herod's Song

I've always *loved* Heaven on Their Minds with Gethsemene as a close second.
And I thought Barry Dennen was brilliant in this, so I also particularly enjoyed Pilate & Jesus and Trial Before Pilate. But there are certain cast recordings in which I just find them too dull and poorly acted.

"We had all the momentum; we were riding the crest of a high and beautiful wave. . .”

Mt favorite song is Gethsemane, hands down.
Followed by Heaven on Their Minds and The Last Supper.
My favorite line in the whole movie is from Poor Jerusalem.
"To conquer death, you only have to die."
Love it.

Every song by Judas (esp. "Superstar"...best shot scene in the film IMO and Carl Anderson totally rocked it in the best way possible), "Gethsemane" because it gives you a *very* painful, frightening yet moving, and personal perspective about the Crucifixion and shows Jesus getting emotionally stronger with each lyric. Then I like "Simon Zealotes" because it's so fast and fun to dance to (I've been to churches where people dress in expensive suits and dresses and *still* dance like this when they get the Spirit) and "Herod's Song" because his crew was dressed so OTT gauche and the song was just so evocative of Vaudeville I loved it.

Still, nothing trumps "Superstar". I've watched this movie with more than a few people and we were all singing and rocking out at the climax of the song!

~Pilate and Christ
~Trial Before Pilate

Nothing makes one so vain as being told they're a sinner

I love "then we are decided"

the contrast between annas's high pitched voice and caiaphas's low voice truly make an excellent match. I get chills every time i hear those two together.

Herod's Song. In my opinion, that whole scene in the movie was hilarious (especially the shocked reaction right after Herod says, "Now I understand that you are God". LOL!!). It was campy but at the same time it conveyed the character's mocking tone and contempt for Jesus. Herod is such a fat, spoiled brat!!

OH MY GOSHHHHH.

I love anything with Judas. Carl Anderson's voice just moves me. Its so great.<3

But my favorite part is Judas' death. When the reprise of 'I dont know how to love him'
My gosh, I cry every time I hear it.

'I dont know how to love him, I dont know why he moves me. Hes a man, hes just a man. He is not a king. Hes just the same, as anyone i know. He scares me so. When hes cold and dead, will he let me be? Does he love.. does he love me too? Does he care for me?'
I just get so moved by that.
To me, no one can top Carl Anderson's performance in this adaptation.<3

The only songs that stand up to the studio version of the album are the Overture and Herod's Song. Everything else is so incredibly inferior to the album that I can't stand the movie versions.
