Do the women in your life hate M*A*S*H?

The women in mine do.

My female answer is that most women seem to have little interest or appreciation for the 11 year masterpiece that is MASH. I'm the only one I know of, female wise, that's into MASH. I was born in '84 so I wasn't around when it had it's initial run, but most females I talk to discount it as being a boring old show appealing mainly to males. I've always found that odd.

On the subject of Alda appealing to women, while most folks probably wouldn't file him under 'dreamy 70's hunk'. he's got a certain appeal. Physically, his raven side-swept hair and huge, wide-set eyes were always lovely, I think. Character wise, Hawkeye is perfectly imperfect. His wit, intelligence, and strong compassionate side was attractive; his sometimes insolent, strong-willed, often erratic behaviour made him seem like a real human being with faults and imperfections. But I don't think anyone, the writers or Alda, set out to make him a sex symbol or anything.

Sadly, most fellow women I know describe the show as beyond boring, and a lot aren't interested because of the age of the show.

i used to like it a lot when I was young, not so much now, but so eo f the episodes still make me laugh. And my sister also likes it,and so did several of my female friends. So i would not say it is particularly unpopular among women.

They are indifferent. I am kind of indifferent too actually, I don't mind some eps but the preachy ones are a bore. I never understood the whole Alan Alda sex symbol thing and I never knew any women who thought he was hot.
