George Takei advocating his bad childhood experiences with an adult

Puts real a dent in watching him as Helmsman Sulu now!

Google "George Takei talks about him at 13"

I didn't watch the video, but I think I get the gist of it. Is there some reason that minor celebrities must air their very OLD dirty laundry in public? Oh yeah, to garner publicity because they have NO careers!

Sulu was one of my favorite characters on Star Trek. I thought he was so cool. Sadly his portrayer is a whiny asshat who complains about Japanese internment camps, his bad treatment at the hands of Mr. William Shatner, his fear of Pres. Trump (even though he was able to "marry" his boyfriend) and all the multitude of "wrongs" which he has suffered in this life. I wish Mr. Takei well, just also wish he'd shut the #### up already!!

I read somewhere that his career consists of vanity projects that he produces. And yet, in large part because of social media, people repeat what he says as if it matters. When something happens, he weighs in, and if it's a slow news day, they surround him with cameras so we call all see him say it. He's given this "elder statesman" treatment that he hasn't earned and doesn't deserve -- any more than any other old guy with opinions.

It boggles the mind, but we live in strange times.
