Agreed. I only found this film by searching for John Wayne's name for more recommendations for his films because I'm on a John Wayne kick right now.

shareI am torn between the buffalo stampede and the Indian attack on the wagon train, but since wagon train attacks were far more common than buffalo stampedes in westerns, I think that has the edge.
I really feel like I missed out by not being born yet in the era of these huge Hollywood epics. Even modern historical epics like Kingdom of Heaven seem small compared with movies like this.
