The show was a who's who of up and coming great actors

I'm on season two and I seriously cannot believe all of the big stars I've seen so far

One of my favorite episodes. I think he was the only black actor to ever appear on the show.

In the one where Micah becomes a drunk again a makes Lucas the Marshall Lucas hires a black guy to take care of the homestead. Thad was the character's name.

Oscar Goldman rocks! Claude Akins was cool too.

Dennis Hopper was the guest star of the first "Rifleman" episode. In further episodes I remember Sammy Davis, Warren Oats, Lee Van Cleef, Jack Elam, Claude Akins, Michael Landon, Dan Blocker, Pernell Roberts, James Coburn, Vic Morrow, Robert Culp, Robert Vaughn, Adam West, L.Q. Jones, Harry Dean Stanton, Richard Kiel, Martin Landau, James Franciscus, and Robert Webber.

The writing was above average for a 50/60's western. I also think it wasn't a very good time for film's and a lot of young actors wanted work (like R.Vaughn who was soon to get an Oscar nom).
