Tyrone Power marathon

Just saw this last night and immediately wanted to go on IMDB to read comments and posts on this 67 year old film. I think I miss IMDB more when I watch these classics as there's no one to talk to about these.

And it's been 2 weeks and still no real discussion board everyone flocks to. How does everyone manage not to look and talk on message boards about films? Why aren't there more people here? Or there? Even in The matrix board, no response to my week old posts, sigh.

Anyway, I did like the film but it seems a bit too short like it's supposed to have 2-3 acts and I just watched the first-second parts. The reunion with the girl seemed a bit rushed to me and unlike many who like her, I found her to be too immature and gushing over Powers. I guess it makes sense as he is far more beautiful than she is but she is cute as she reminded me much of Shirley Temple. But I think I would've preferred Shirley Temple as she had a cute feistiness about her, even when she pouted like a 5 year old at 20 or 25 like this actress did.

I also hoped he would have some sword fighting scenes especially since he is known for swashbuckler films and one of the few leading matinee idols who was actually trained in fencing.

Although, the film seemed very modern in many way, the depiction of Bayani and the depiction or anti-hero-ish depiction of Power.

The haircut of Tyrone in England is peculiar, I thought only scribes or squires or very young apprentices had those haircuts. And maybe it was explained in the beginning when he first left school but after? Was it a general hairstyle for young men back then? I'm surprised the studio allowed him to have such a hairdo, I definitely welcomed his out of England hairstyle more and was rather disappointed he went back to it after. He was very handsome even here, just 7 years before his death and his film Witness For the Prosecution. It's amazing how quickly a mere 7 years aged him, he looked to have aged 20 years instead of just 7 in WOTP. But perhaps his drastic aging had a lot to do with his health. IDK.

If you watch Joan of Arc, set 100-200 years after this, King Charles VII has a similar haircut.

I think similar to Judy Garland, he drank and smoked a lot, which
will prematurely age you. I started watching his films during the pandemic.
